More and more of my couples are adding fun outdoor elements to their weddings, especially come the Fall season. From outdoor casual rehearsal dinners, to s'mores stations at the wedding reception, brides and grooms are choosing to utilize the gorgeousness that is nature here in Gainesville, FL. I love easy DIY projects, especially for brides! I always tell my brides to pick projects for your wedding that you can complete way ahead of time and are stress free. Don't get me wrong - DIY projects can completely make a wedding! Those personal touches add so much meaning to the event and make it customized to you guys as a couple. But really, who wants to be up to 1:00 am the week of their wedding tying 100 bows on something?  This project is perfect for a bride that wants an extra touch for her tables but doesn't want to spend a ton of time (or money!) - AND it's gorgeous!! Happy Monday everyone! Summer is simply flying by! August is right around the corner, which means... we're coming up on my favorite time of year - FALL! I thought that a little early Fall inspiration was in order with this incredibly simple (and gorgeous!) Dahlia centerpiece I found on Karin Lidbeck's Blog . August & September are peak season for these pretty flowers. What better way to showcase them than with this? While digging out my flip flops after Wednesday's post , I stumbled upon this and though - "Adorable!" Flip Flop Dancing Shoes via Wedding Chicks It reads: "Help yourself to a pair of Dancing Shoes and leave your excuses under the table!" How fun, right? This is great for any type of outdoor event where guests partying in heels wouldn't be preferable. Don't the buckets of flip flops look super cute? It's such a great, usable, favor for guests! Summer has hit in full force here in Florida and I'm dying to find time to hit the beach! I saw this idea for a beach ceremony and it made me run to grab my flip-flops! via Ruffled Isn't it so fun?!?! They had their guests toss mini beach balls after the "I-do's!" via  Ruffled I just love this! They're so colorful, they stand out easily in the pictures and make such a fun and cute favor for guests. A version of this would be neat as well for places where confetti or birdseed and rice isn't allowed. You could have mini pom-poms or solid color balls in your wedding colors for guests to toss. I know that I've mentioned before how much I love reading the Planning Forever Events Blog by Saundra Hadley. I was catching up on it the other day and read her post about parents being seated on the "wrong sides" at ceremonies. I thought it was such a cool idea - I had to share it with you guys too! So the story goes that she was coordinating a ceremony and something inadvertently got switched up and the parents sat down on opposite sides from their bride/groom child. Traditionally, Brides stand on the left with the Groom on the right. Typically, each person's parents will then sit directly behind them as well. In this case, the parents mixed things up and sat on the wrong sides of the aisle. I saw this and thought that it would be beautiful for spring weddings! Re-purposing vintage items is such an awesome (and affordable!) way to personalize your wedding. I love how these shutters look on the table, especially with the colorful runner underneath! via Karin Lidbeck You can find old shutters at flee markets and places like garage sales. The key is to find ones that are small enough to allow room for the plates on the table, so make sure that you know your table size before you go hunting. It'd be great to stain them to match your color scheme or to leave them in the variety of stains and colors you find them in for a more eclectic look.
